What value do connected suiter have at pokerstars.com

In terms of suited connectors, they always have potential and you can sometimes find yourself making a big hand with them, but I can’t say that this is really good reason to play them often at pokerstars.com.

The usual situation will be that you are behind going into the flop and that is never the most favourable position to be in. There have been occasions in the past however when I have been short stacked and moved all in at www.pokerstars.com with these type of hands, and obviously I don’t want a call but there is one extra strength to the hand that is often overlooked. The fact is if I move all in with a hand like (A,7) or (K,10) I am likely to be only called by someone with a bigger Ace or King, and be in trouble.

With suited connectors I am far more likely to have two poker live cards as well as my straight and flush possibilities, which isn’t exactly a terrible position to be in. Be that as it may, I wouldn’t ever be hoping for a call with suited connectors.

In terms of taking a flop cheaply with, suited connectors are a great hand in my view. This is partly due to the big hand potential, but more importantly, if you make a hand like top two pair when the cards come out low, or even a straight in that instace it is very well disguised. Your opponent will never have expected you to go into a online poker pot with something like (7,8).

So overall I would say that suited connectors do have some lesser known advantages, and I like to take flops with them if it doesn’t cost me much. But the fact remains, you are almost always going to be in the pot as an underdog preflop, so do not get too excited about this type of hand.

Recently at PKR there has been a bounty tournament for forum contributing players. This bounty event had $1,000 added to the prize pool, which is an excellent offer, and somthing which PKR are looking to make a regular fixture every two weeks.

As well as this recent development, PKR have been running satellites to the APT, with prize packages worth $7,700. There are five players already having won this package which truly offers an opportunity of a lifetime.
PKR has recently been adding some extra to it’s regular gaurantee tournaments too, it’s daily tournaments of this variety having a larger gaurantee starting point to tempt even more players to take their chances on this type of tournament. The weekly gauranteed tournaments have also been bulked up giving the chance for players to get a very nice windfall indeed.

It seems as PKR continues to grow, their tournament schedule does too, and they have also taken the time to think of their customers on other continents by adding some good value late night tournaments to their schedules too.

The PKR forum is a great idea as the players themselves get to post ideas to help the management team move forward and keep the majority of players happy. Recent changes that have been made are certainly evidence of this, and I am sure PKR will continue to add great value tournaments to their schedule each month.

Continuation Bets at Different Points in a Hand at Fulltiltpoker.com

it is a very usual thing for players to bet into a pot on the flop at fulltiltpoker.com, and can often result in picking up the chips there and then.

But what conclusions do you draw about your potential actions on the turn if your opponent calls?

In many instances a www.fulltiltpoker.com player will be tempted by making a second bet on the turn, partly I suppose because if you check then your opponent will probably push you out with a raise whether he made his hand or not. [tag]Fulltiltpoker.com[/tag]

In these circumstances it is important to consider draws which might be available and whether the turn makes these more likely to have been hit. A flat call of a bluff on the flop does not mean you should automatically give up the facade and check your poker hand.

Often a secondary bet when a seemingly harmless card falls will induce a fold from an opponent. If it does not, then you will definately get more information about your opponents hand. If you are re raised at this point then you are probably only going to cost yourself more chips if you call. If you are flat called you are more likely to be up against either a draw being chased, or a big hand being slow played.

The main thing to remember at fulltilt poker.com in online poker is that raising on the flop and subsequent turn can often win you the pot, but you must be calculating the reasons why your opponent is calling and use your best judgement.

Be aware of your table image too, loose players are more likely to be slow played. But, do not be deterred from putting out these probing bets to see where you stand, they will win you the pot outright more often than you would think.

Pokerroom and Celebrities

Posted by admin @ 12:00 AM, Thursday Jul 10th, 2008

There are many well known faces to be found in the world of poker and at Pokerroom these days, with actors and sportsmen alike all turning up to compete in the World Series alongside the rest of the swathes of poker enthusiasts.

In a way, the fact that there are many celebrities playing the game is a very strong indication of how the game has grown at pokerroom.com, and it is good for the game to have them playing. [tag]Pokerroom[/tag]

Poker professionals too have found themselves thrust into the spotlight a little more in recent years, as coverage of major events has increased and the followers of the game have expended. Everyone who takes a real interest in the game knows all the big names, and usually keeps track of their favourite pros at events such as the WSOP.

Although these pros do probably get noticed from time to time when they are out in the street or at www.pokerroom.com, it’s probably not going to be on the same scale as big pop stars, but at least it’s nice to see these folks getting some recognition.

The thing that I find most commendable about big name stars playing online poker, is that they do not all just turn up for big events and play.

These clebrities go out of their way to find time to use their fame for the greater good, by organizing televised pokerroom events for charity. There are many programmes on television where celebrities play their own tournaments in front of the cameras, with the proceeds going to charity.

These types of pokerroom.com tournaments play a great role in enhancing the image of poker and bringing it to a wider audience, alongside the more obvious benefits to the people the charities help.

So although some of them think they are better poker players than they actually are, all in all, celebrities playing poker is always going to be a positive thing and somthing which will help the reputation of poker to grow.
