www.pokerroom.com offers a vast array of promotions and tournaments to it’s customers, and clearly understands the value of giving players plenty of choice at the tables.

Some of the promotional offers at www.pokerroom.com include, a weekly guaranteed tournament which has a $300,000 prize pool. This is known as the ‘Championchip’ tournament and gives the opportunity of a huge win to players at www.pokerroom.com. Another promotional tournament on offer at www.pokerroom.com is ‘The Bounty’. Many of these type of bounty tournaments can be found scheduled at poker rooms online, but this one is a little different. The team pokerroom players are present at this tournament, each with a bounty on their head. What’s more, the tournament itself has a $100,000 prize pool.

If regular guaranteed tournaments are more your style, you can find these ranging from $4,000 to $50,000 at www.pokerroom.com. ‘Cannonball’ tournament are a great invention, and can be found at www.pokerroom.com too, offering an interesting blinds structure which increases quickly at first, and then slows down as poker players get deeper through the tournament. This promotes good poker play rather than putting so much pressure on players that there is little room for post flop creative play. These tournaments, promotions, and of course regular freerolls, make up an exciting schedule of tournaments at www.pokerroom.com.

PokerRoom.com Closure

Posted by Trix @ 12:00 AM, Thursday Jun 11th, 2009

Closure of companies is something which has been seen in many parts of the world recently as the financial climate changes, but it is difficult to say whether that had anything to do with the Poker Room closure. The poker room itself was quite well known, having been established ten years ago, and there certainly weren’t any outward signs of trouble that you would notice.

Perhaps player traffic at Pokerroom was not as high as some poker rooms, but there certainly seemed to be plenty of players at the tables.

Word of Pokerrooms closure was released on the sites news section, in which they did not disclose reasons for their closing, but did give an alternate site for players to join. Redirecting players in this way, is something I have seen before in a gaming site closure, and it is possible that the company are merging two poker rooms into one rather than shutting down entirely.

If the poker room is starting afresh elsewhere for whatever reason, then that certainly isn’t as bad as completely closing of course. Either way, I have to say that I thought Pokerroom were a reasonably good poker room, and cannot see any obvious reasons why they would close.

I think that generally speaking, if people are experiencing some financial difficulty, a hobby such as playing poker online might be the first to suffer, but there is no real way to tell if this was indeed a factor. Let us hope that poker rooms closing down does not become more regular.

Pro Players at PokerStars.com

Pokerstars are one of the best known online poker rooms around, and they have a list of pro players to match, with some of the best known names in the business flying the flag for Pokerstars.

By the time the final table came to pass for last years WSOP main event, many of the final nine had been signed up by Pokerstars. Ivan Demidov and Peter Eastgate were the final two players in the main event, and both are now part of the fantastic team at Pokerstars.

These new additions will have been welcomed by the rest of a team that already includes great names such as Daniel Negreanu, Barry Greenstein, Vanessa Rousso, Greg Raymer and many more. There are a great many WSOP bracelets held between the entire team of Pokerstars, and for good reason too, as many of them prove their talents at the game all over the world each year.

You are sure to see them at the tables in this years World Series, and let us hope they pick up a few bracelets in the process as they did last year.

There are likely to be new additions to the team this year too, with the biggest event of the year unfolding, and there is always a chance for regular players to achieve this goal.

With enough dedication and poker talent, becoming a sponsored pro is surely possible for anyone.
If you are a member of Pokerstars, there is a list of all their pros onsite, and you can even watch them play if they happen to be online and at the tables.

Avatar Options at PKR.com

Posted by Trix @ 12:00 AM, Thursday Jun 4th, 2009

Options available for your avatar at PKR are numerous, with some of the following points being just a taster of what you can do with your character.

Get your custom poker avatar at PKR.com now – click here

Different genders with many different face shapes make up the starting point, with lots of hairstyles, facial hair if you choose, and colourings. Age, texture, and eye colourings are also there to help you create your character.

If you are a female player you can even paint your characters nails, and players can tattoo their players if they wish.

It is not just the appearance of your character that you can change, you can also alter the voice and accents too.

Over a hundred different choices are there for your character simply in terms of headwear, with visors, beanies, cowboy hats and baseball caps on offer. The list of other clothing from which you can choose is equally extensive, meaning that almost every character you see at the tables will be entirely unique.
Most of these items of clothing must be purchased for a small number of player points, which does limit the options of micro stakes players a little, but it shouldn’t take most players very long to accumulate enough points to buy as many different items of clothing as they want.

On top of all this, chip tricks can also be purchased. You can show these off at the table between hands or while you are waiting for a player to act. All these aspects of creating your character are very enjoyable, and give a very personal feel to sitting around the table with a group of players.

High Stakes Online Poker Rivalries at PokerRoom.com

Posted by Trix @ 12:00 AM, Thursday Jun 4th, 2009

It has seemed that for some time, high stakes online poker players are very cordial with one another and would prefer to listen to one anothers strategies about the game than develop any fierce rivalries. I do not know all these players personally of course, so perhaps I am wrong, but it would certainly appear from interviews given and talking at the tables, that most of these players are friendly enough.

The greatest minds in high stakes poker often seem to become close friends, and in some ways you can see why this would be beneficial. As I mentioned earlier, sharing tactics and past poker hands would certainly be something you would expect such poker players to discuss with each other, and this all helps the development of poker skills I feel.

Recently though, there has been some perceived animosity from one particular player online, who has been seen making numerous comments in chat whilst playing high stakes cash games. Rumour has it, that this player might take up Tom Dwans online $1.5 million challenge, and you could say that this provides some much needed fire to the online high stakes scene. I have to admit it will certainly make interesting viewing.

Having said that, I personally feel that being polite and behaving with the utmost decency at the poker tables is an aspect of the game we should look to preserve.

Rivalry is a good thing in my opinion, but only if the players conduct their duels with integrity, and respect for one another.

Pro Players at FullTiltPoker.com

Posted by Trix @ 12:00 AM, Thursday Jun 4th, 2009

Full Tilt Poker are very well thought of by many online players across the globe, and this includes professional players too. It must take a special sort of online poker room to attract the best names in poker, and Full Tilt manages this. Having earned the respect of top quality players everywhere, Full Tilt now have an extensive list of players onsite.

Play with the pros now at FullTiltPoker.com!

Some of the names you might see playing here include, Phil Ivey and Gus Hansen, both of which are renowned for their abilities and exciting styles of play.

Also at Full tilt are Chris Ferguson, Patrik Antonius, and many other players who are recognised as being extraordinarily talented at the game.

The fact that these players choose to play at Full Tilt, says a great deal about the site itself, I feel. It is not just the fact they put the Full Tilt logo onto television when they play televised games, but their presence here also shows how secure and trustworthy the site is.

These players can often be found onsite playing high stakes poker, and there has been one challenge in particular that has captured the imagination of the poker world.

Patrik Antonius has taken up a challenge by Tom Dwan to play anybody heads up over 4 tables in either Holdem or Omaha. Along with the cash on the tables, there is a large side bet between the players on who will emerge victorious after 50,000 hands. This has been taking place on Full Tilt, with myself and many others keeping a close eye on the action.

fulltiltpoker.com review

Full Tilt are held in very high regard within the poker community, as they have been offering one of the best online poker playing experiences around for quite some time.

They are also the site which is hosting Tom Dwans challenge to the poker world, which is good for raising their profile I feel. The unique avatar styles found on Full Tilt may not be a key point for many players, but personally I feel this is a nice touch, as too many sites have very limited choice in this regard.

Some of the greatest poker players on the planet spend their time on Full Tilt, which shows you not only how trustworthy Full Tilt is as a poker room, but that they can keep the biggest players in the world happy.
You can definately say that Full Tilt are one of the leading sites in terms of big guaranteed tournaments and satellites to major events. This, as well as good player traffic on higher stakes tables, tends to keep the more serious players happy, but I also feel the lesser bankrolled players are taken good care of too.

Their loyalty bonuses are very good too, and promotions show a lot of ingenuity. These are regularly updated to keep players coming back, and this task is one which Full Tilt seems to achieve with ease. If you do encounter any problems whilst playing, you can feel safe in the knowledge that Full Tilts helpful staff are there 24/7 to help you in any way they can. Overall, Full Tilt is a top quality poker room in my opinion.

Poker Strategy at PKR.com

Playing online poker at PKR and remembering the golden rule:

Setting Yourself Guidelines in Poker:

To play online poker at PKR.com click the link now!

In many ways I feel that putting a few rules in place before you play can be quite productive. you can perhaps sit down with a clear idea of what hands you will play in approximate positions, and this can help prevent you getting caught up in the moment and doing anything too risky. It can also hinder you from making creative plays based on a feel for the players at your table and their tendancies, and so it isn’t something that I would personally adhere to strictly.

There is certainly a place in poker for self set guidelines in my opinion however, with care needing to be taken that you do not play in particular circumstances. The most obvious one is when you have been drinking or are overly annoyed. Your judgement must not be clouded in the slightest if you are to read well and and play good poker in my opinion, with taking breaks after losing a big pot perhaps helping you to lose less money in the long run.

If you are like myself and love to play poker as often as possible, I feel you should also be careful you do not play too many tournaments in a row. Tiredness can start to affect your play sometimes in poker, but when that happens to me, I tend to find myself playing on, simply because I enjoy playing so much. The simple fact is though, that I probably do not play as well in the third MTT I play in a row, as I did when I sat down to the first one, and you can apply similar rules to cash games too.
