Event six at this years World Series saw an unknown player by the name of Thang Luu take down the $1,500 Omaha hi/lo event, making a Full House on the final hand to beat Spencer Lawrence heads up. This brought Luu $243,356 in prize money and a well earned World Series bracelet. Scott Clements was the only sponsored pro to make the final table, finishing 9th.

event seven was the $2,000 No Limit event and saw Matt Keikoan triumph over more than 1,500 players to win this three day event. He caught out Shannon Shorr trying to pick up some chips with (10,6) off suit, and called Shorrs all in with (K,5) spades. His Full House with kings up clinched the title and $550,601 for his first place. Theo Tran makes an appearance in already his second final table this year and takes 4th place again in what is quickly becoming a great year for him thus far.
Event eight was the World Championship $10,000 mixed event. Two well known pros in Sam Farha and Eli Elezra had good tournaments, making the final table to finish 6th and 5th respectively. The day was won though by 22 year old Anthony Rivera who managed to get his poker opponent James Mackey to put it all in pre flop with (A,9) off suit. Rivera flipped over his (A,K) and there was no help to arrive on the board for Mackey. Rivera was understandably delighted to pick up $483,688 and his first ever bracelet for his efforts, and was congratulated by his friends who had turned out to watch him.
Event nine saw a valiant effort by second place Nathan Templeton be to no avail, as Rep Porter triumphed in this six handed event: $1,500 No Limit Holdem. He now has a World Series bracelet and further $372,929 to his name after three days, and 212 hands of play. His (K,Q) off suit, having Templetons (K,9) off dominated from start to finish on the last hand.
Event ten was the $2,500 Omaha/Seven Stud hi/lo eight or better event. Pro player Michael Mizrachi managed an impressive 8th place and John Cernuto came in 3rd , but it was left to little known players Tom Chambers and Farzad Rouhani to battle it out for the bracelet and $232,911 first prize. Chambers was short stacked and never quite managed to claw himself back into the lead, being finally defeated by Rouhanis quad threes.
